THE INSURANCE COMPANY

Mom called me at work yesterday. She sounded so exasperated, but I could hear the determination in her voice–she intends to get her home nice and comfortable again. She is still having problems after last week’s flood left her basement in a completely unlivable condition. She has called the insurance company but it seems they are giving her a bit of the run around. She is still trying to get the water completely out. Since she had no electricity, she relied on her sump pump. She is frustrated that her backup generator did not work as well as it was supposed to. I guess she is also a bit stubborn because she thinks she can handle this all by herself, which I know she can, but I think it will be much easier on her if we all got together and gave her a hand. We could make short work of clearing all that furniture out and going through all her boxes for her. She won’t have to worry that some strangers are going through her things. I will call Marie, and Ed and see if they will bring their big strapping boys over this weekend. We could have a barbeque, doing and afterwards.
