My friend has two children and was very happy at being a stay-at-home mom while they were young. As her children grew and started school, she didn’t know what to do with her time. She didn’t want to work full time, as when her children had a vacation from school, she wanted to be able to spend time with them. The trouble with a part-time job was that even though she worked fewer hours a day it was still a job year round. She decided that working at a temporary job might be a good choice for her. She looked in the newspapers but there were little ads for temporary work. She went on the Internet and found some staffing companies that specialize in temporary employment. It was just what she had in mind. She had good office skills and the staffing company was able to find temporary assignments for her with no problems. Some of them were for two weeks and some lasted longer. She loved the diversity of the jobs and all the new experiences. When she needed to be home, she just informed the staffing company and they wouldn’t schedule her for any work assignments for that time. This was the perfect working plan for her situation.
