The biggest company in Florida lost major money because of their relocation software problems. The software the whole company used keeps track of financial data and was web based. With the software not being active for the whole day it was down the company had to close for the day resulting in loss of money. They had to bring in off duty programmers that created the software to trouble shoot and find out what was going on. Having to call in the programmer to look at the problem the company is getting charge for repair labor, which is costly. After about five hours of trouble shooting the programmer found an error in the software and had to rewrite the code. After rewriting the code they tested to and did the basic trouble shooting steps to see if it would go smoothly and it did. Now they had to test the software via internet to see if that would work correctly and it did. The programmer felt bad because it was not the companies fault for this error but because of the programmer’s software mistakes they decided not to charge the company for them coming in and fixing the issue that software was having.
