My family and I moved to California almost six months ago. My dad got a promotion at his job that required him, and of coarse us, to make a move to California. We used to live in Colorado; our new location is so different from what I am used to, but I like it here, especially the weather. I have noticed that almost no one wears glasses here compared to when I lived in Colorado. At first, I could not understand why this was, but I went to Los Angles for the first time last week and noticed that Lasik in California is very popular. I could not walk two blocks without seeing the office of an eye surgeon that advertized their Lasik operations. I am guessing that the influence of all of the celebrities in California and peer pressure makes some kids at my school that wore glasses want to get a Lasik operation. I wear glasses too, but I do not think that I want to get a Lasik operation, no matter how easy it is to get Lasik in California. I usually just wear my contact lenses; they are unnoticeable and comfortable, so I see no point in trying to fix what isn’t broken.
