INDEPENDENT INVESTOR

Last year my husband decided to become an “independent investor.” He went out without asking me and bought a peace of land and proceeded to build a house on it. He did all of this without consulting me first. Now we are on our way to our appointment with our first bankruptcy lawyer. I can’t believe my husband’s judgment. The piece of land was so low in a valley that it was like below sea level. Once you were down there it was an okay view of the sky, but we live in Minnesota, and who wants to drive down such a steep hill in middle of the winter to a little blue house in the middle of a forest. Not to mention having to plow the driveway. There were just too many bills for this new house that no one would buy, and then the mortgage was due. We were badly in debt and couldn’t pay off our lenders. What can I say; we crossed the no passing zone sign. There was no place to go but ahead. And that is exactly what we both did, giving each other verbal and physical support to pave the way to our ordinary lives. After much work, that time finally came. The burden of payment was off our shoulders, but never again will the burden of responsibly be allayed.
