My girlfriend and I were friends for more than year before we actually started dating. From talking with her, I knew she came from a family with money, but I never knew how much money until we dated. She has a luxury PC, a two-floor condo, and drives a Range Rover. Yes, a gas-guzzling Range Rover! Just paying for gas alone for that thing would bankrupt me. She has a blackberry, an Xbox, a Playstation 3, a big-screen TV, granite countertops, and a bathroom so sleek I felt dirty just standing in it. And she loves to travel and who can blame her since she can just take off from bartending job whenever she wants to and use her parents’ money to fly anywhere. This year alone, she’s been to her hometown Atlanta, Nashville, New York, Portland, England, the south of France, Dublin, and Boston. I have no idea what she sees in me. I was excited earlier in the year when I went to Indiana to visit some friends and the only other place I can visit any time soon is Wisconsin. I’ve been all over Ireland and I would love to travel more, but I don’t have the money nor can I just take off from my job like that. Maybe I can start spending her money. I don’t know.
