I work at a dry cleaner and my boss just informed me that he wants to expand the business into the realm of rug cleaning. He’s sending me to the Master Rug Cleaners School in Dallas Texas, which costs six thousand dollars to attend. I told him that I thought that it was too much money but he said, “Think about it. When you get back from that six day program you’ll be certified. We will be able to advertise the fact that we are the only legitimate specialists in Oriental rug cleaning in Chicago. That alone is going to bring countless new clients our way and you can make very good money cleaning and restoring those rugs. By attending this school you are going to be adding a whole new dimension to our business.” I guess it’s true what they say – you have to spend money to make money. I just hope I can handle it, I was never very good in school, nor am I the greatest cleaner. I’d really hate to have my boss shell out six grand and then end up failing the class. This is a lot of pressure for an under achiever to handle.
