BUYING OUT ASSETS
We toured the company today, and I think we are going to end up buying most of its assets, plus it's intellectual property. That means its name and names of its products and services. I know that some of the directors were happy. This will amount to a fire sale. The company had no disaster recovery plan though, so a huge chunk of its customer service data is lost, as well as sales figures and projections for the new year. Still the bosses think that it will be a bargain just because we will be getting well known brand names, as well as a base of customers loyal to the brand. They figure we can send our own people around and survey the old customers and see what they were buying and how much they plan to be buying. Of course we will be keeping some of the key people from the company, to aid in the continuity. This is really a low risk type of thing. I'm not sure what, if anything, that I will be doing with this. My plate is full, so I'm hoping not too much. I'm a bit concerned though. I mean, why was I along for this tour if I am not going to be involved? Time will tell. It always does.
