ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

I know a few people who have had organ transplants and despite the fact that technology has advances so greatly, it always seems that a transplant is simply delaying the inevitable. Eventually the body always seems to reject the new organ, and the person is in the same trouble that they were in originally, if not worse. I am not saying that I do not think I would want one of my loved ones to have a transplant if they needed one, and I also think that being on the donor list is important, but from what I have seen, the success rate does not seem to be good long term. There are also so many other complications that can occur from an organ transplant. One of my best friends lost his mom after a complication occurred after a lung transplant surgery. It was such a horrible situation. I talked to him right before the surgery, and right after. He said the doctors told them if she made it through the night she would have a good chance. He said that they had to say goodbyes, and he was so thrilled when he got to see her the next day. Unfortunately, a blood clot went to her brain and she died a day later.
